Ziggo Dome

Ziggo Dome is a famous multi-purpose entertainment complex located in the Zuidost district of the Dutch city of Amsterdam. The venue was opened in June 2012 and is mainly intended for performances by popular foreign artists and groups. In terms of its capacity, the Ziggo Dome has become the “golden mean” between the giant ArenA stadium with not the best acoustics and the AFAS Live concert hall, which seats no more than 5,500 spectators.

The Ziggo Dome building was erected over the course of two years according to the design of the famous Dutch architectural bureau Benthem-Crowel. The initiator of the construction was the Ziggo company, which is known as a cable television provider. The name of the location reflects its shape - the building is made in the form of a rectangle with a massive dome. Thanks to modern design technologies, the internal space of the complex can be easily transformed into a tennis court, an Olympic swimming pool, an ice skating rink or a large concert venue. The main hall can accommodate up to 17,000 people.

The acoustics of the main hall deserve special mention. Ziggo Dome, according to the creators, is “the best sound stage in the country.” The internal arrangement of the location was specially designed for these purposes.

Over the years, the Ziggo Dome has hosted such famous performers and bands as the famous Dutch pop singer Marco Borsato, the grunge band Pearl Jam, Madonna, Lady Gaga, the British rock band Muse, One Direction, Iron Maiden, Radiohead and System of a Down and many others.
